The DA stands for Dumbledore's Army. It originated within the Harry Potter series of books. It began with a group of students who rebelled in secret against Dolores Umbridge's reign over the school and ban of the correct teaching of Defence Against the Dark Arts.
Our DA was formed under similar circumstances. Except, instead of being formed in a rebellion within a school of magic it was formed in a rebellion within another Harry Potter, writing-based RPG. The rebellion that ensued with the other RPG site ended soon after the DA was established. We have members happily RPing on both sites. However, the DA stuck as a popular name for this RPG. RPG stands for Role Playing Game. The DA is one, but it is based through writing. RPers create characters and write with other RPers to form plots based within the Harry Potter world. This site prides itself on being a friendly community full of excellent writers with excellent plot ideas.
Book Characters (BCs) are available if they are not already taken and can be auditioned for. We also have a Special Abilities application procedure. There is a set number of special abilities for each type at any time on the boards. We have our own canon legislation for these, including: half-vampires, werewolves and half-veelas. The staff are friendly and always willing to help.
If you would like to join the DA we hope you will enjoy your experiences with us, but please read the Rules and FAQ section before registering here. Registration should only take a short time and when you are validated by a member of staff you will be able to begin posting, though we advise you have your characters approved first.
